Bangkok Night Part Two
Continue your culinary journey through Bangkok in Part Two of our Bangkok Night Series with an evening inspired by the city’s bold street food flavors. We’ll begin with tom yum goong, a fragrant and spicy shrimp soup layered with lemongrass, lime leaf, and chilies, served over rice for a comforting and satisfying meal. Next, we’ll prepare goong hom pha, a crispy, aromatic shrimp appetizer wrapped and fried to perfection. To cool things down, we’ll end the night with sweet banana roti, pan-fried until golden and generously drizzled with condensed milk. Working in small groups, students will explore classic Thai ingredients, techniques, and flavor balance—then enjoy the dishes together, Bangkok-style.This is a participatory cooking class. A small group of 3-4 students will work together at each cooking station to complete the recipe on the night's menu."Evelyn is such an enthusiastic instructor, and draws on her life experiences to share her joy of Asian cooking. I love her classes."

Conversational Italian for Intermediate to Advanced Learners - ONLINE
MUSIC & LANGUAGES
Benvenuti in Italia! “Conversational Italian” is dedicated to your needs and wants in this beautiful language. For this reason, the preliminary assignment for the first class is for you to prepare a realistic list of things you would like to learn given the number of sessions we will have. This is the ideal equation: Beginning of class + End of class = I learned what I wanted to know! If you wish the class to be conducted in Italian or have a hybrid approach (Italian and English) you must all agree to this for obvious reasons. Having a hybrid approach is beneficial and Cinzia will explain her philosophy in this regard. Not sure what level of Italian you are at? No problem! Sign-up and decide after the first class if this will meet your needs. This is an online class. A Zoom or Google Meet invitation will be emailed prior to the start date. All handouts will be emailed directly from the instructor. "I have taken this online Italian conversation course with Cinzia for three years, and it is a great touch-point every week to practice the language and even meet new friends in Vermont who also have an interest in the language. Some of these friendships from the online class have transitioned into real life friendships, as we continue to meet after the class is over to practice Italian together!" "I really enjoy these classes with Cinzia. They provide an opportunity to practice Italian in an informal, friendly and chatty atmosphere. Cinzia sends materials between classes but homework is more or less at the individual's discretion. It helps me keep on my Italian and especially practice my listening and speaking skills with a native speaker. Cinzia is funny, warm, and great at teaching colloquial details."

KIDS, TEENS, & PARENTING
Today’s kids are growing up in a digital environment no generation has faced before—and most parents are trying to keep up without a roadmap. Between smartphones, social media, school devices, gaming, and constant online connection, it can feel overwhelming to know what actually helps kids thrive. Raising Kids in a Digital World is a supportive, evidence-based series designed to help parents and caregivers move beyond fear and confusion and toward clarity, confidence, and realistic family strategies. Rather than focusing on panic headlines or rigid rules, this program offers practical tools, thoughtful discussion, and research-informed guidance that meets families where they are. Emmy Hilliard of Grow Digital Skills will help participants gain insight into how technology truly affects kids’ development, how to talk with kids in ways that build trust and cooperation, and how to create family tech plans that actually work in real life. Sessions are designed to stand alone or be taken as a series, allowing families to join whenever they’re ready. We’ll look at: How technology affects attention, sleep, mental health, and learning Why some kids struggle more than others What’s normal, what’s not, and when to be concerned Parents will leave with a clearer, calmer understanding of what truly matters—and what doesn’t. Session 2: Conversations that Work How to talk about tech without power struggles Most families fight about screens—but very few are taught how to talk about them. This session focuses on: How to have conversations that don’t trigger defensiveness Ways to help kids feel heard while still setting limits How to shift from control to collaboration You’ll learn practical scripts and strategies you can use right away to open healthier, more productive conversations at home. Session 3: Building a Family Digital Plan Creating boundaries that actually stick Rigid rules often fail—but no rules don’t work either. This session helps families create a plan that fits their values and their real life. We’ll cover: How to decide what matters most for your family Age-appropriate boundaries How to handle pushback and change over time Understanding smartphone settings Participants will leave with a framework they can adapt as their children grow. Session 4: School Devices & Social Media Managing what you don’t fully control From school-issued laptops to Snapchat and TikTok, parents often feel powerless. This session explores: How to set boundaries when devices are required for school What to know about popular platforms How to advocate for your child at school When and how to step in This is about realistic navigation—not perfection. Register for each of these online sessions separately or come to the full series for the maximum benefit.

Night Sky Photography Series with Bernhard Wunder - ONLINE
PHOTOGRAPHY, TECHNOLOGY, & DIGITAL SKILLS
Night sky photography sits at a rare crossroads of craft and wonder. It asks for technical precision—focus in the dark, exposure math, patience with gear and nature—but it rewards us with something deeper: a slowed heartbeat, a sharpened sense of place, and a renewed relationship with the sky above us. This genre is gaining popularity in the photography community, and it is an exciting field where individuals can still distinguish themselves. This workshop series will explore equipment requirements, planning steps, camera settings as well as post processing techniques for various topics: Night Landscapes, Moon, Milky Way, Star Trails, as well as Deep Sky Objects (nebulae and galaxies). Each session is a complete workshop, so feel free to register independently for each topic of interest. If you own or are thinking about purchasing a D-SLR or mirrorless digital camera, and a wide angle lens this class is for you! The only requirement is that you have a general interest in photography, a camera that can operate in manual mode, and the willingness to explore imaging software on a computer.
