HOME & GARDEN, NATURE & ANIMALS -

Be Your Own Handyman!

There are plenty of times when calling a professional is warranted, but learning how to DIY simple jobs will save you both time and money! Handyman Steve, will answer your questions, and show you the basics of how to troubleshoot and fix the most common electrical, plumbing, and carpeting issues.

Each class will start with an overview of the topic, and then move onto a hands-on demonstration.  Safety measures, tool requirements and usage will also be covered for each project. Students are encouraged to bring their own tools from home.  Got a project in mind? Bring photos and your questions!

    CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Stephen Smith

I’ve been a handyman for eleven years. I started in California working in Topanga and the LA basin. My family moved to Shelburne in 2012 and I’ve been busy doing DIY projects for clients ever since. I have over 200 clients in Chittenden county and I do everything; Exterior rot repair, door and window replacement, siding, gutter cleaning, power washing, roof moss/lichen abatement, garage drainage, interior drywall repair/installation, painting, plumbing (mostly fixture installation and replacement), electrical (mostly fixture installation and replacement and adding outlets/switches), carpentry and flooring. I’ve given a DIY How-To for new homeowners for CHT. I taught high school stagecraft in CA and am currently teaching students stagecraft at Harwood High School and Williston Central School.
