If you are just beginning your journey in pottery, or if you have some experience and want to learn more while you work independently, then join artist, Lisa Bresler on Wednesdays and get ready to create! During these 10-weeks you will learn new pottery skills, refine your techniques, and create beautiful ceramics with as much instruction as you need. Focus will be mostly on wheel throwing, but for those that prefer hand-building you will have all the support you need! At the CVU ceramics studio, we offer and welcome a fun and judgement-free collaborative environment for potters of all levels. Only 10 spots available! Students will have access to stoneware, mid-fire clay, Cone 6. All clay, glazes (brushed and dipped), use of the studio, tools, as well as firing costs are included in the fee. NOTE: Only the provided glazes and clay are allowed in the studio. BONUS: Free access to "Open Studio" on Monday evenings 5pm-8pm starting Sept 29-Jan 5. No open studio on 11/24 or 12/29. Recommended minimum age: High School.

Come enjoy a night of learning how to use Gelli plates to create beautiful prints on paper, canvas, and card stock! This technique allows you to make monoprints without the need for a large, expensive press. Just roll a thin layer of water-based paint over the gelli plate, layer your collage, and transfer the print! Take home many wonderful prints to use creatively on home projects such as wrapping paper, greeting cards, gift tags or a gorgeous artistic collage to frame. Lisa will show you the many crafts you can make using this creative medium. All materials to use during class are included in the fee, but feel free to bring your own fabric or papers. Bring an apron and wear clothes you don't mind getting painted! This will be a fun and lively class. No experience necessary! Have a Gelli plate design in mind? Come learn how to make your very own beautiful wooden barn quilt from scratch! The size will be 2’x2’ (that’s feet!). They look great just about anywhere and make awesome gifts for both inside or outside your home and of course on a barn! We will learn the steps to design and paint a geometric pattern, learn how to lay out and measure the layout and review colors. Between classes you will need to work on your quilt at home since each layer takes time to dry before being taped again. Choose your own design and identify colors at the first class.
