An Evening of Japanese Food
Join Evelyn for a flavorful evening learning to make two Japanese-inspired favorites: Katsudon and a no-bake Matcha Tiramisu. The class begins with Katsudon, a comforting rice bowl topped with golden, crispy pork cutlet simmered in a savory-sweet sauce. Along the way, Evelyn will share the origins of pork katsu and demonstrate a special technique to achieve a perfectly crisp cutlet—without the usual kitchen mess or splattering oil that frying often brings. This method will make it easier and more enjoyable to recreate the dish at home. To round out the evening, you’ll prepare a Japanese twist on a classic Italian dessert: no-bake Matcha Tiramisu. Using clever substitutions, Evelyn will guide you through a simple yet elegant recipe that highlights the earthy richness of matcha. The result is a dessert that is not only light and refreshing but also a true crowd-pleaser, perfect for sharing during holidays or special occasions. This class is designed for cooks of all levels who want to discover approachable techniques while enjoying the taste and culture of Japanese cuisine. Come ready to cook, learn, and savor every bite.

Zentangle Tree Ornament
ARTS & CRAFTS
Let's create original, exquisite tree and Christmas ornaments! Using the Zentangle method, wooden cutouts, and sharpies, we will make some beautiful art pieces. The zentangle method is a trademarked process based on a theory developed by founders Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. “ZEN” means calm and “TANGLE” means a collection of overlapping patterns. ZENTANGLE is the bringing together of the calm and the pattern. Creating Zentangles is also great for improving your fine motor skills and concentration! In this class you will be introduced to a bunch of "tangles" and you will choose the ones you prefer to put on your prepped wooden ornaments. The fee includes 2-prepared ornaments with ribbons. Previous Zentangle experience is not required. All materials are included in the fee. Min age: 14+

Intro to the Art of Zentangle
ARTS & CRAFTS
Discover the meditative, artistic world of Zentangle® created in 2004 by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts. It is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns (tangles). This class will guide you through the process, from a brief history of Zentangle, through the 8 basic steps of the method, to creating patterns with combinations of lines, dots, and simple curves. Zentangle art is non-representational and unplanned so you can focus on each stroke and not on the end result. But the outcome will surprise you! You will have created a beautiful abstract tile. No artistic experience is required. All materials will be provided by the instructor in class and are yours to keep!
