2nd Annual CVU Empty Bowls Dinner
Lift up our community and join us for the second CVU Empty Bowls Dinner, Thursday, April 10th, 6:00pm at the CVU High School Café. This popular event sold out quickly last year, so don't delay in purchasing your tickets. Only 300 tickets available! NOTE: TICKETS WILL NOT BE FOR SALE AT THE EVENT!Empty Bowls is a global grassroots movement that rallies communities to combat food insecurity. Community members are invited to participate in a soup dinner to raise money for a local food shelf. This year's recipient will be the Hinesburg Food Shelf at the Hinesburg Community Resource Center. The Hinesburg Community Resource Center (HCRC) is a volunteer non-profit 501(C)3 organization of neighbors helping neighbors. HCRC responds to the needs of Hinesburg area residents while we build community and extend a helping hand. Tickets: $20 donation per adult, $10 donation per child ( Donations: If you are not able to make the dinner event OR in addition to your dinner ticket, please consider a monetary donation. All monetary donations are tax deductible (A donation receipt will be emailed after the event, from HCRC, for your tax records). Select an amount from the green DONTATIONS tab below and follow the prompts to check out. If you would prefer to mail a check, please make it payable directly to the Hinesburg Community Resource Center, PO Box 444, Hinesburg, VT 05461. If you need help registering for tickets or making a donation online, contact us at 802-482-7194.Event: Each ticket will include one food grade handmade ceramic bowl*, and a dinner of homemade soups (vegan and vegetarian options available), artesian bread, and Sisters of Anarchy scooped ice-cream.*Your chosen bowl will act as a continuous reminder that your contribution helped fill the “bowls that go empty every day” in our state. . Silent Auction*: Featured products donated by local businesses, additional bowls, as well as beautiful wooden cutting boards handcrafted by CVU woodworking students will be open for bid. Payment by cash or check is preferred. Credit card payments can be arranged. Chocolate Candy Making 101
Come join us for a fun night of chocolate making. In this course we will use a variety of different types of candy molds to make professional looking chocolates. You will learn how to make solid chocolates using milk and dark chocolate, and also how to make yummy filled chocolates with caramel and peanut butter. We will end the class by using a variety of decorative boxes, bags and foil wrappers to package up our chocolates. Each participant will leave with a variety of two dozen handmade chocolates. Please let us know during registration if you prefer milk or dark chocolate, or both.For students aged 13 and older. Children aged 8 and up are welcome to join with an adult caregiver who is also registered.

Turn a Wooden Pen!
ARTS & CRAFTS
Come learn the basics of pen turning with professional wood turner Andrew Duling. Pen turning is an excellent introduction to lathe work. It’s a quick, fulfilling, and inexpensive way to go from wood to finished product. Bring home a pen you can cherish for years or give as a gift. Each student will complete turning of one pen, with the option of turning an additional pen as time allows. Open to all ages 16+, students 12-16 welcome with an adult chaperone. All experience levels welcome! No prior woodworking experience required. All materials and use of equipment included in the fee. Bring safety eye goggles and wear closed toed shoes. No loose clothing! Wear your hair tied back or wear a hat.

ARTS & CRAFTS
Come learn the basics of turning and make a rolling pin with professional wood turner Andrew Duling. This is an excellent introduction to lathe work. Choose your wood and learn the basics to complete a beautiful and functional keepsake. Bring home an individualized rolling pin you can cherish for years, or give as a gift to an avid baker! Each student will complete turning of one rolling pin. Designs such as a tapered French or a handled rolling pin will be discussed at the start of class. Open to all ages 16+. No prior woodworking experience required and all experience levels welcome! All materials and use of equipment included in the fee. Bring safety eye goggles and wear closed toed shoes. No loose clothing! Wear your hair tied back or wear a hat.

Join Andrew Duling, a professional wood turner, to make your first hardwood bowl! Each participant will receive a hardwood blank and have their own lathe to use during class. Learn how to use and work safely on a lathe. Turn a blank into a beautiful wooden bowl and gain the confidence needed to start a new hobby! Safety practices, proper tool use, and properties of wood will be covered. All materials and use of equipment included in the fee. Bring safety eye goggles and wear closed toed shoes.
