Join fine local jewelry maker, Jolynn Santiago, and learn how to make a beautiful piece of jewelry to wear of gift. Over the course of 4 sessions (3 hours each), you will learn the basics of jewelry making and maybe leave with not only a beautiful unique ring, but also new hobby!
Prong settings—created when metal wires are soldered and shaped around a stone to hold it securely in place—have been used for centuries to create settings in which the stone remains mostly visible. At the beginning of class, students will choose from a selection of small natural stones I’ve collected and design a silver ring with a prong setting that responds to the stone’s shape and size. The class focuses on soldering, forming, setting, and hand-polishing, and is best suited for students who have previously made rings with me, as well as those with prior jewelry-making experience who are ready to build on their skills.
All materials, silver & stones, and tools for use during class are included in the fee.
All levels are welcome. Only 6 spots available!
