Oxygen Advantage® Breathing Workshop Series

HEALTH, NUTRITION, WELLNESS & BEAUTY -
Winter/Spring 2026

How we breathe impacts how we feel, move and sleep. Our breathing influences our nervous system and our overall well-being. These 1 hour-long sessions will be centered around improving oxygen intake throughout your body through functional breathing training. Over the course of 4 sessions, you'll learn how to increase your breathing efficiency, the science of breathing, and techniques to increase concentration, emotional resiliency, and performance.

Learn techniques to connect to now and develop your breathing toolkit. The first class will be focused on breathing biochemistry, the second class on breathing biomechanics, the third class on cadence or breathing rate. The final week, we'll review and put all the techniques and skills you've learned together.

For the workshop you should dress comfortably and be prepared to stand, move, and sit. No props needed.

Class is appropriate for ages 13+

Nicole Carpenter

Nicole regularly explores ways to optimize a situation or a particular thing, including her body. Over the years, she has learned much about how to keep herself healthy and functioning. For Nicole, yoga, body movement, sleep, local foods, and mindful breathwork have created the foundation for a balanced and enriching life as she works and engages within her community. Nicole wants to share her knowledge and help others understand the resources they have within their own body to live more fully. Nicole wants to help you feel better, move better, sleep better, and think better. Nicole wants to help you gain the skills you need to live and age gracefully. Our bodies do change overtime and with some tools you can help the body adapt and support itself regardless of what life throws at you.

Since 2020, Nicole has spent much of her spare time diving deep into breath, trying different breathing techniques, feeling the impact in her personal life, taking human physiology courses, learning about our nervous system, and reading as many books as she can find on various breathing styles. In 2021, she completed a Wim Hof breathing course (and jumped in cold-water). In 2022, she became a certified Oxygen Advantage instructor and, in the summer of 2022, will complete a 200-hour Pranayama Certificate through Yoga Vermont.

After 25 years working in engineering, climate action, and management, Nicole is shifting her energy to focus more on people and wellness. Human beings are the main driver in our global ecosystem and if we feel better and are healthier, maybe we’ll be better stewards of the Earth. Our body, our mind, and our health are intimately intertwined. Through running, hiking, yoga, cold water immersion, and breathing Nicole has increased her understanding of how her mind and body work, and what is needed to live life more fully than she has in the past. Nicole is always learning, discovering more about others, the world, and how she wants to participate in life. She would like to help you learn more about your body, your nervous system, and gain some tools to help you live your life as you would like. Knowledge is a two-way activity. She also is regularly inspired by and learns from those with whom she works.
