This beginner class will introduce you to basic visible mending techniques to use on jeans, pants, button downs, and skirts. Visible mending is great for holes, stains, logos, and boring/tired garments. This two class session will focus on strengthening the worn area, and introduce you to new mending techniques including transferring stitch patterns onto your garments. There will be individual time to work through your mending questions or stumbling blocks on your current projects.
Take a look at your mending stash and bring those jeans that need some TLC! Please note, this is not a darning class, so skip the knits (no socks or sweaters).
Needle and sashiko thread provided, as well as a plethora of scrap fabric to choose from. Feel free to bring scrap fabric from your own stash.
This hand-sewing class is appropriate for ages 13 and older.
"Ande was great--full of enthusiasm and humor, and so generous with sharing her knowledge and tips she has developed along the way. I think this was one of the best Access classes I have taken to date.- Student in Ande's Spring 2025 Mending Class"
