Learn to weave this unique basket to use for decorative storage in your home. In this beginner friendly class, you will craft your own beautiful and functional Mail Basket with a riveted leather handle. This basket has so many uses beyond holding mail! Clear off your counters and use it to store bathroom essentials; wallet, sunglasses and keys; dog leash and treat bag; or whatever else needs a home. Come try your hand at one of the oldest crafts in human history! Participants should expect to complete the project in 1 session. 

All quality materials included.

Suitable for ages 14 and up.

Sue Domas

Sue Domas is a Vermont-based artisan specializing in the traditional craft of basket weaving. Using rattan reed as her primary material, she creates intricate, functional baskets that celebrate the beauty of natural forms. Occasionally incorporating foraged materials like bark, twigs, leaves and vines from the Vermont landscape, her work reflects a deep connection to the earth and the changing seasons. As a teaching artist, Sue shares her expertise with her students, guiding them through the process of weaving and exploring the rich history and techniques of this timeless craft.
