Come to this workshop to learn about fused glass and make your own set of small decorative plates while you’re at it. This workshop will include instruction on using hand tools to cut the glass, using a grinder to get the shape you want, and how to make crushed glass (frit) to create your design.
All materials are included in the class fee.
Micaela will take your finished product after the class and fire them in a glass kiln; your projects will be available for pick-up at CVU a week later.
No experience required. For students ages 13 and older.
Students aged 8-12 are welcome; they should register with an adult who is also registered for the class, and plan to have one dedicated adult for each child attending.
This class will meet inside CVU.
I am a Burlington native and have been living in Saint George for over twenty years. I started out working with stained glass over twenty-five years ago. I became curious about fused glass and starting taking workshops and classes. I’ve taken many fused glass classes including one at the The Corning Museum of Glass and many at the Bullseye Resource Center in Mamaroneck NY. Spring 2011 I was juried into the Vermont Handcrafters for my fused glass and participate in many craft shows primarily in Vermont. I have been teaching fused glass at Davis Studio for many years. I feel that working with students keeps me curious and pushes me to continue to experiment and explore new ways to fuse glass!
