Make a Mexican Tin Lantern

ARTS & CRAFTS -
Fall/Winter 2024

Join Julian and create a lantern inspired by traditional Mexican tin art out of aluminum tooling foil and glass marbles. You have likely seen the real thing in various Mexican restaurants!

You will have the option of recreating traditional designs or freestyling to make a topless lantern that can be illuminated with a candle (real or fake) set in the middle.

Interested in learning more about Mexican tin art? Check out these sources:

1.Brief PDF presentation of Mexican tin art (through Slide 13)

2.Short traditional tin art video

This class will take place inside CVU.
