During this 4-week course, students will learn basic surface embroidery stitches: cross, stem, lazy daisy, French knots, running, blanket, and satin stitches. Classes are designed to allow for individualized instruction as well as time to practice and refine stitching technique. Students will be embroidering a variety of items including: a breadbasket cloth and a table runner.
Students should come prepared with scissors.
This class is appropriate for stitchers 13 years and older.

Marcia Bosek has been embroidering for over 50 years after being taught by her grandmother and aunt. Over the years, many of her friends and family members have received embroidered tablecloths and pillowcases as gifts. She is a member of the Green Mountain Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. Dr. Bosek holds emerita faculty status at the University of Vermont. She will be applying teaching/learning principles developed during her 40 year career teaching nursing skills to this Access CVU Introduction to Surface Embroidery class.
