"Andy is very knowledgeable and incredibly patient with students. He is a great instructor!"
"Very knowledgeable teacher and very patient, great at explaining, cannot say enough how good he was!"
I first used a lathe in shop class in the late 90s. I thought the lathe was so cool and wanted one of my own. Years later I was finally able to buy one, without a shop class teacher around to help me I found my new tool to be kind of scary. I found a bowl turning class at CVU ACCESS and signed up. 1,100+ bowls later I am starting as an instructor for that same ACCESS class!
My philosophy in turning is to keep it simple, and let the beauty of the wood speak for itself. I sell my bowl at a variety of farmers markets and craft sales. I am the editor-in-chief of the publication of the Vermont Wood Chucks, an American Association of Woodturners affiliate.
