Night-Sky Photography Workshop - ONLINEPHOTOGRAPHY, COMPUTERS, & AUTOMOTIVENight-Sky Photography is fascinating genre and gaining popularity in the photography community. It is an exciting field where individuals can still distinguish themselves. But the equipment and techniques are a bit more tricky and involved than your typical landscape setup. During this 6-session workshop we will explore equipment requirements, planning steps, camera settings as well as post processing techniques for various topics like: Night Landscapes, Moon, Milky Way, Star Trails, and Deep Sky Objects (nebulae and galaxies). We will use Adobe Lightroom Classic for some demos as well as some other tools. If you own or are thinking about purchasing a D-SLR or mirrorless digital camera and a wide angle lens this class is for you! The only requirement is that you have a general interest in photography, a camera that can operate in manual mode, and the willingness to explore imaging software on a computer. The first session will be reviewing equipment and we will learn about each of your personal goals for taking this course. Once the weather has warmed, there will be a practical in-person night session offered to all registered students. This is a virtual 6-session workshop. If you have been thinking of completing a Health Care Directive to communicate your needs and wishes, but have not completed one, this class will provide an opportunity to discuss your concerns/questions and will encourage you to take action so your loved ones can better understand how you would like to be cared for if you were not able to speak for yourself. *This class is offered by donation* Session one: Welcoming time, explaining Health Care Directives , generating a list of questions and concerns from the participants of what they understand and what they would like addressed, going over the Vermont Health Care Directive form in a general sense and resources available for more information, etc; Session two: This is an optional session for those who would like additional help with filling out the form, address discussions they may of had with others, and any questions that have come up since the first session. If you wish the class to be conducted in Italian or have a hybrid approach (Italian and English) you must all agree to this for obvious reasons. Italian for Beginners- Part 1 - ONLINEMUSIC & LANGUAGESImagine sitting on a small table in a piazza of a village in Italy. The waiter comes over and you converse in Italian. This course will give you the fundamentals of the Italian language as well as some phrases and ways to get around. This is an introductory course focused on the Italian language and culture where we will learn all about pronunciation, basic phrases, important vocabulary, beginning verb tenses and conjugations, and a sense of the everyday life and culture of Italy including food, wine, art, and how to get around this amazing country. This is a perfect course for those who want to begin learning a new language as well as for those who want to travel to Italy. There will be opportunities for speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Liz Winn taught for 30 years in the public school system with both music and classroom, and now continues to teach Italian. She once lived in Rome, and goes back about once a year to continue the immersion of the language and of the culture. Liz teaches to the needs/wants of her students.
