This class is open to those who have taken pottery at Access before or whom have an in-depth understanding of pottery and would like a guaranteed time, space, and supplies to work independently on their wheel or slab projects. A supervisor will be available for questions, to help organize the studio, communicate requests, and help with firing schedules, etc.
Students are encouraged to continue learning new methods, learning from each other, and expanding their independent practice.
*We regret that we cannot offer the space or materials for production of quantity pieces. Only clay and glazes from our studio will be allowed due to the possibility of cross contamination and potential firing issues. If you have a specific glaze you would like to use, prior approval will be required.
A wide assortment of low-fire glazes, 1 block (25lbs) of low-fire white clay, and firing costs are all included in the fee. Firing schedule will be at the discretion of the supervisor and CVU ceramics teachers.
BONUS: Access to "Open Studio" will be on Monday evenings 5-8pm (Feb 12-May 20) and is on a first come basis. The studio will NOT be open Feb 26, April 8, and April 22.
