In this fabulous course, participants will weave and outfit their own Adirondack Pack Basket! The pack basket is carried on a person's back using fitted straps. The Adirondack Pack Basket is perfect for foraging, fishing, picnics, camping and much more. The pack basket will be made out of sustainably harvested reed and will last for years to come. All other materials will be responsibly sourced. This class will require 4-sessions for completion. Come and learn a new craft and take home an heirloom to keep or gift! All high-quality materials included. Feel free to bring a special strap or belt if you want to personalize your basket. Please check-in at the CVU main entrance before the start of the first class."Ben is a wonderful instructor and this was my second class with him. Supply of materials and tools to complete the project are superior, all you need to bring is your creativity. Ben is patient and supportive instructor who takes the time to help you understand the craft and encourages you to "make it your own." Friends that see both of the projects I have finished are amazed that a novice like me could complete such a professional looking basket!"

Van Conversion Forum
Travel in a van conversion is a low-cost and self-contained travel option that appeals to folks comfortable with and excited by the prospect of independent exploration. Whether staying at campgrounds or at “dispersed camping” areas, you can optimize your home-on-wheels to meet your own requirements. Over the course of 4 sessions, we will discuss and share ideas, methods, and experiences. This is great class for anyone interested in van conversions and/or has some experience and is looking for more. Note, this is not a shop class. Which vehicle is best for conversion? How to plan for a space that will meet your particular needs? Why not buy an RV or a factory van conversion? This forum will take a methodical approach to discussion of needs, priorities, and limitations, including, but not limited to: The Big Tin Can: walls, ceilings, floors, insulation, noise suppression, ventilation. Electricity: solar panels, battery options, charger/inverters, DC/AC wiring, lighting, ventilation, heating. Sleeping: bed and bedding options. Storage: shelving, drawers, dedicated space for bicycles or other specific needs. Cooking: built-in or outside, refrigerator/coolers. Bathroom needs: the most-frequently asked question, no-contest. Camping: What options exist for staying in developed or dispersed areas? Thomas Brennan has travelled throughout the U.S. and Canada over the past six years in a 2018 Ram Promaster.
