  • Modern Cursive Calligraphy with Lydia Batten

It's the phenomenon you see everywhere these days--where cursive handwriting meets the calligraphy world! Everyone will walk away with their own interpretation of how to achieve this style--just think about how your own handwriting is unique to you! Don't know how to write in cursive? Here is a chance to see how it happens! We will look at examples of what is out there, and then study, examine, practice certain basic common forms and methods, and use a particular type of marker to get the style going. From there you can create your own letters and maybe a final piece! Basic supplies (markers, some different paper samples, and exemplars) will be provided. There will be the chance to try out other tools as well throughout the class for those interested in taking a deeper plunge. This class will meet inside CVU. Please wear a mask and checkin at the CVU main entrance before the start of class.
