  • French 103+ Conversation and Writing - ONLINE

For students who are advanced beginners-novice intermediates and have taken up to level 103 equivalent. This is a 6-week class that will cover a new topic each week. Students will answer questions or improvise their own commentaries on short films, one feature film, articles on interesting people, and compare some songs that have been adapted from French to English (and vice versa) (Why did they choose those lyrics?). After learning so much grammar and vocabulary, this spring, or prior, here is your chance to practice what you’ve learned. Writing answers to these questions will help to anchor your learning and to know what you want to say in advance of the class. Preparation doesn’t have to be lengthy. That’s up to you. (No textbook, just access to YouTube). This class will meet online via Zoom. You will receive an email prior to the start date of your class with information on how to participate.
  • French 101+ Conversation for Beginners- ONLINE

For students who have taken beginning French, but don’t want to forget it over the summer months! Conversations will focus on topics that are easy to discuss such as travel, recipes, descriptions, asking questions, short videos (for discussing likes and dislikes), and reading a chapter in an easy-reader of Arsène Lupin: Gentleman Cambrioleur (for fans of the Netflix series “Lupin”). No textbook is required, but if you wish to reference a text, Easy French: Step-by-Step (available on amazon https://www.amazon.com/French-Step-Step-Myrna-Roch...) is the recommended workbook that is followed during this class. Choice of topics can be flexible depending on interest and comfort level. This class will meet online. You will receive an email prior to the start date of your class with information on how to participate.
