In this class, students will start out during the first class learning how to make a palette, and we will go over basic color theory and composition through a paint-along in which students paint a study of a mountain landscape along with the instructor. From the second week through the end of the session students will select a subject, either a floral, still life or landscape and paint that subject. At the end of the session students will have 1-3 small format paintings and 1 large format painting of their chosen subject and through the process of completing their painting will have gained a basic command of the medium and an appreciation and affinity for the craft of Oil Painting.
This class welcomes students of all levels. A list of materials to purchase prior to class will be provided with your registration confirmation. General materials required for oil painting are included in the fee. Minimum age: High-School
